Kayla Nixon lives and works in Fort McMurray Alberta, where she was born and raised before moving to Calgary to complete her degree in Interior Design. She created her company as a homage to her grandmother, Simone, the woman that taught her how to sew and how to be a home-maker. What started as a custom home textile side job turned into a fully realized design studio with one goal in mind: to create interiors that brought out the best of their owners.
The Simone Co.is centered around the values of slow living and gentle business practices; which inspires us to lead a mindful and authentic life. We strive to be transparent with our process, open with our communication, and accepting of all client lifestyles, budgets, and circumstances. Born and raised in Fort McMurray, Kayla completed her Interior Design degree in Calgary before bringing her training home. The Simone Co. is named for her grandmother Simone, who taught her to sew and to make a house feel like home.
What began as custom textiles has grown into a full design studio, built around one idea: every space should showcase the best of the people who live in it.
