What's a reasonable design or construction budget?

All design and construction budgets are determined by the size of the space, scope of work, and product selection. The Simone Co. welcomes all budgets, and we encourage our clients to be open to design alternatives while we work to achieve balance between needs, wants, and costs.

Does the consultation fee apply toward design work?

Accepted Answer

Our consultation service is in itself, a package. It is our goal to ensure our clients leave this meeting with a clear path forward and practical advice. This consultation is not required when purchasing a package. Clients that are unsure of which package is right for them can book a complimentary 30 minute phone consultation to determine which package is right for them.

Can services be added to an existing package?

Accepted Answer

All packages operate under their own contracts and cannot be modified. Additional services will be charged either hourly or through their own contract.

Can you recommend a contractor or tradesperson?

Accepted Answer

All clients, trades, and contractors are different in terms of standards, work ethic, budget, and timeline! The Simone Co. does not affiliate with any particular trade or contract worker/s. We recommend all clients research and deliberate their trades/ contractors prior to hiring.

When should I hire a designer?

Accepted Answer

Designers excel at creating a plan for our clients. We believe that it saves time and money for all parties when the expectations are clear and concise. It is recommended that the larger the scope of work, the earlier the designer is brought to the table.

Do you offer virtual design?

Virtual designs are available, but may come with additional disclaimers and fees.

Do you work with clients outside of Fort McMurray?

Accepted Answer

We are based in Fort McMurray, Alberta and work in-home or on-site. Reach out to discuss your project and we'll see what we can work out.

How long does an interior design project take?

Every project is different, and timelines depend on the scope of work, the services involved, and how quickly content and decisions can be finalized on both sides. During our initial conversation we'll give you a realistic picture of what to expect for your specific project.

Question 9

What should I bring or prepare for my first consultation?

Accepted Answer

Come as you are — there's no homework required. If you have inspiration images, a Pinterest board, or photos of your space, those are always helpful to bring along. During the session, we'll walk you through our Style Questionnaire together, which is designed to surface your preferences and design language even if you don't have the words for it yet.

What areas of a home do you design?

We work across all interior spaces — living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, home offices, entryways, and outdoor areas like decks and patios. We also take on commercial projects. If you're unsure whether your space fits, reach out and we'll let you know.

Question 11

Do you do upholstery?

Accepted Answer

We upholster removable cushion applications such as bench seats, dining cushions, chair cushions, outdoor cushions, etc. Upholstery that is attached to framing, requires stapling/mounting, or is used for automobiles/ boats is not offered through The Simone Co.

Do you fix hems, zippers, and fabric tears?

We do not fix hems, zippers or fabric tears of any kind on cushions, pillows, or drapery that was not created by The Simone Co.

Question 13

Do you supply fabric & sewing supplies?

Accepted Answer

We have many lines of fabric and foam that can be bought by the yard through the Simone Co. Please note that our fabric is for home applications and are not meant for clothing. We do not sell sewing supplies such as threads, needles, etc.

Do you sell foam cushions?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we do sell foam cushions. Minimums may be required. All foam sheet sales are custom orders and are non-refundable.

Do you have items in stock?

Accepted Answer

All in-stock items can be found in our Online Shop. All drapery is made to order.
